Does anyone know how to determine if the bellcrank mod has been incorporated. My ship was built in 76 (15B) it was not imported to the states until 86. The bellcrank initial AD and upgrade were issued in 82 and 83 (prior to import so I suspect the upgrade was accomplished). There are no AD logbook entries of any type prior to the ship being exported to the US.

The bellcrank AD/mod requires to cut a hole in the vertical stabilizer. There is some space between the hull and the tailplane, maybe you can peek through it. (An endoscope might help) You have to look for traces of an repair in that area.

I removed the rudder and can see the crank pretty well. I am just not sure what the MOD to the crank would look like. There is a doubler installed on the rear bulkhead of the vertical stab. but this does not mean the crank was modified. It just means access was accomplished. Surely someone knows how the bellcrank looks with the mod. I sent John Murray an email but he has not responded. Do you have a email address for some one @ AS that could help me?

Here is a drawing of the crank showing the modification by adding a long piece of tubing (item #1 in the drawing) to the aft side of the actuating crank tube. The other two variants I and II are original tubes and they do not constitute the mod to the crank. The tech not 22 explains all including the structural work that accompanies this mod.
