Spining - 2007/12/21 11:43 Can anyone tell me what a 15 spins like? as I could not get mine to spin, I have recentley had a tailwheel fitted and I have been told that it may take 3000feet to recover from.

Thanks

Re:Spining - 2008/01/07 15:52 Every aircraft spins. The previos owner of mine has. But the previous owner also used to fly inverted in wave. Also he always flew his finals at 130 140 knots. Three thousand feet to recover is crazy. The manual says that it wont spin, unless the C of G is aft. It says that it will start with an incepeint spin which turns into a spiral dive. But thats when the glider was new. Mines been broken a lot of times! I tried to spin mine and if all controls are crossed up it will drop real quick. The minute the controls are centered it seemed to just start diving. This will be different to most others due to its repars. Just try it at hight to be safe!

Re:Spining - 2008/01/08 21:19 With VNE = 119kts I'd be anxious about being the new owner of that 15 (!)
BTW ours has a tailskid and with a 200lb pilot will spin if provoked but not alarmingly and recovery, so far, has been textbook.
